More precious than diamonds, silver or gold or even dark chocolate….reliable, high speed wi-fi and clean clothes.  And I’ve got BOTH!   For a very limited time.  Woot woot.   I know that Mike has plans to post something about our week ‘down here’, but since we leave tomorrow morning with no idea when I’ll be able to get back online, I thought I’d at least upload a bunch of photos.

We’ve been in St. Ives for a week now and I’m absolutely smitten (smutted?).   The light, the beaches, the little cobblestone alleys and adorable beach houses with names like “the Down-a-long” and “Upper Saltings” and “Labour in Vain”.   Love it.   It’s Poldark country and brings to mind a Cornish version of Tofino or Positano.   It’s been exactly what we needed to slow down, sleep in, tackle some schoolwork and get over our colds.

We stumbled upon an end-of-season sale at the surf school and wound up buying the kids wetsuits for 5 pounds each (about $8 Cdn).  It’s been hard to get them out of the surf all week, despite a few days of high winds, spotty weather and showers.  But we managed a few hikes, saw St. Michael’s Mount, Penzance and the Lizard Peninsula (including the most magical spot ever – Kynance Cove – I swoon).

So, it’s off to bed for me.    Next stop, France.

Miss you all.
